Qui, alla Terra della Luna, il vino è come quello che faresti tu per la tua famiglia. Questo è il “vino del contadino“. |
Terra della Luna was re-born in 2006 after Alessandro Vignali left the life of Marshal of the Italian Carabinieri fighting International drug trade & wars. He returned back to where he grew up, Marinella di Sarzana, three kilometers away from where he now grows grapes in the Colli di Luni. He chose to live the life of a contandino and natural to the extreme. The winery, located in a basin on the border where the hills of Tuscany and Liguria meet at 50m above sea level - (you can see the sea 3km away from his property). His soil is rich in grey clay at a depth of one meter. The gray clay allows for late harvests even in particularly hot years. Terra della Luna currently produces 4 white wines, all unfiltered and without sulfites.
(white wines): Vinacciolo di Luna: Vermentino refermented without sulfites and unfiltered. Plinio: Vermentino from the first harvest, Lun'Antica Marmo: Vermentino (long maceration aged in marble) The red wines are from Grenache and Syrah grapes. (rose + red wines): Osé di Luna Rosato: Grenache refermented in the bottle Caligré : Grenache (9ppm) Sci di Luna: Syrah His home and winery are all dependent solely on the earth using all natural materials, and made every effort to create a life and winery with minimal environmental impact. The house and cellar are constructed with eco-friendly material. Air-water heat pumps are solar-powered so that no fossil energy is used, in an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to zero. Alessandro’s idea is bringing “his dreams down to earth” which translates to: “terra della luna”. |
