“Petit Rouge is the oldest native vine known and used in the Aosta Valley. We keep it in purity to pay tribute to the history of Aosta Valley viticulture and its land.”
Wine: 100% Petit Rouge, 24 months of aging in stainless steel. Plot: Chabloz Region, Aosta hill. Altitude and exposure: 650mt s.l.m., southern exposure. Soil: particularly draining, thanks to its sandy loam and gravely skeleton-rich composition. Vineyard age: vineyards planted in 1972 and 1990. guyot. Harvest: September 25th. Kg of grapes per square meter: 0.45 Kg. Vinification: the grapes are de-stemmed at 70%, the rest remains a whole bunch, directly in a steel tank; it remains in maceration 3 days before the beginning of fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is free from clarification and filtration thanks to the winter rest; before bottling two decantings are carried out in the right moon phases. Aging: 100% steel for 24 months. Total sulfites: 35 mg / l. Alcohol content: 13.5% vol. Bottles produced: 549 bottles, 30 magnum. |
