You feel like you’ve entered into mountains that exist in the sky when you arrive into the main valley of Val d’Aosta. Here on the slopes of these mountains Stefania and Fabien care for their vines and three children. Stefania studied Enology and wrote her dissertation on native grapes of Val d’Aosta. Fabien, already working with wine at Overnoy met Stefania and together they created Les Petits Riens. High in the mountains of the picturesque valley of Aosta it is not an easy terrain to work. Primarily planted to Petit Rouge, Cornalin the wines are aged in sandstone vessels ranging from 300L eggs, both sleeping and standing and 1000L urn shaped vessels. Sandstone cured at a high temperature has a lower porosity vs Terra-cotta or cement. Only native yeasts are used, no additives, and <20pps.
